Brandon Montgomery is a 35 year old artist living in Phoenix, Arizona.  He earned a BFA in Sculpture from Arizona State University and soon after graduation he entered the United States Navy.  In the ensuing 11 years he served on three ships at seven different duty stations.  Two Persian Gulf deployments and a year bouncing around Europe exposed him to much of the art that he studied in school, however, seeing it in person allowed an understanding that was much more lasting than his art history lessons.  He has visited 47 cities in 21 different countries since college.  Throughout these travels he adopted more mobile methods of art such as photography and painting because sculpture often required too much space and equipment, but overall there weren't ample occasions to create the art he wanted to.

While on shore duty in 2013, Brandon won the grand prize for the “Art of Patron” contest which then led to additional opportunities and helped sway him to pursue the arts more wholly.  In 2015, he received a commission from the US Navy Memorial Foundation to create a modern day Naval Aviator.  Later that year, Brandon resigned his commission from the Navy and he now works out of his home studio and is back in school learning 3D design and Biomimicry.
